About Feed 5000
The Problem
- More than 2 billion people do not have regular access to safe, nutritious, sufficent food.
- 690 Million people go to bed hungry every night.
- Every 3.6 seconds a person dies of hunger and 75% of them are children.
Our History
Feed 5000 was founded in April of 2023, by Faith W. , Miss Teen Grand Canyon International 2025. She started her work volunteering for Feed My Starving Children with her girl scout troop when she was 12. As she learned about food insecurity all over the world, she wanted to do more. Her first children's book, Life Without Food, discussed the impact of providing food to those in need. She hosted fund raisers and was able to provide 1,000 meals with her donation to Feed My Starving Children. Later, she came up with a simple plan to address hunger and wrote another children's book about it -Feed 5000. Anyone can do it! Ms. Wilhite is continuing her mission and is delivering aid to Cameroon Africa, London, England, through her trusted partners this summer. Our next goal is France!
The Feed 5000 Initiative
The Feed 5000 game plan can be implemented in these easy steps:
- Ask family, friends, and local businesses to donate gift cards.
- Collaborate with trusted partners to distribute the gift cards to families in need.
- Evaluate the results and repeat!
